Ok folks... Hipshot to the Rescue..

I was in the same boat... no ins. Owned my Eris 8 days... Broke the glass! (Aren't we dummies? ) And BB was giving me grief. The repair shops in the area wanted $130 to fix it. And new screens are darn near impossible to find... darn near that is...

Well I found some! OEM Screens! Well they are not just glass, they are actually an electronic part. They were in mainland China where they are manufactured.. Oh.. I hadda wire the money ahead of time.. .(I know.. BIG BIG Risk!) But.. .after some dialog with these folks, I decided to take the chance.

It paid off! I got them! (Did I say them?) I believe I DID! I figured...I'm not alone here.. and If I'm lucky enough to pull this off, why not let a few others benefit too?

Well wouldn't ya know it? The same day I got them.. .BB came thru to help me! (Murphy's law) So.. Here I sit with spare screens looking for a good home!

I was going to Ebay them.. but.. frankly I'm not looking to make any money here.. I just want to get my money back and help a few folks on this forum. So.. here goes..

The first 3 people to pm me are the winners! $80 Bucks shipped & insured! Paypal accepted

Now I don't claim to know how to put these in but I understand its relatively easy. And their are you tube videos out there to show you how. I understand once you got it apart, the trick is to heat the glass with a hair dryer to soften the glue to remove and you will be in business. And you can replace while the glue is still soft. Easy!

Now.. we both know its glass. And they made it from china without a break. And I'll take even MORE care to make sure they get to you safe. However its just too easy too cheat the system here so I will be sure to insure these packages just in case. If you claim they are broke, You deal with the fedex claim. Fair enough?

So.. get em while they last!

What price did you pay for them if they're $130 to have the device repaired by a professional and the part is $80 shipped from you?
I do repairs myself but have never had anyone bring an eris to me but I guess it's always good to have random bits in stock.

Having recently got parts in for the Nexus One and will be getting other parts for various other new android/HTC devices.

Yeah I argued that point myself.. with the people that wanted to charge me $130 for the repair.. They told me the part themselves cost them $75 bucks!

I didn't buy it since I could get them for $40 as a retail customer. But since the source wasn't a retail outlet they didn't take credit cards. I hadda western union the money oversaes $20 bucks... Shipping $50 bucks... Parts $40 a piece , Now I gotta package, ship, insure them again to you... well you do he math.. it adds up quick!

Anyway the point is I and others could not find ANY US source for these parts. I got them. They are available . And I took the risk ordering from China. All I'm doing here is giving a few folks here a US source for the OEM part they may need and recoup my investment. Trust me. I'm not getting rich here hehhe..

Can you get em cheaper? Probably. But I'm not willing to buy 20 or 50 pieces at a time. I'm not a repair shop. I'm just a guy who got himself into a pickle and figured while I was at it, I'll help a few others out.

So.. Pay $130 -$150 to get you uninsured Eris repaired or pay $80 and do it yourself! :D The choice is yours.

Now if you want all 3 for stock well pm me and we'll work out a discount. It'll cost me less to ship. :p

    Unbelievable..

When I needed one, they were not available ANYWHERE! Now some Wholesaler comes in with a load of them and under cuts me.

Well.... That'll teach me to try to help some fellow forum members out. Now I gotta take a loss for the privilege. :(

Oh well.. .$65 it is if you want one. ;)

I did not find any specific to the Eris but if you you tube HTC glass replacements you will find a number of them they are all about the same.

this doesn't help if the lcd is broken, right?
Just dropped my eris.. the touch function seems to work fine but most of the screen doesn't display anything.
