I could not get Astro to work, so I went w/ Estrongs F/E. This works great! Done a scan, found my desk top, viewed all files and folders that I wanted to...BUT cannot open any document. Word, Excel, PDF, MP3, etc. Everytime I click on the files it says "Sorry, No Application Installed." I can open these types of files if they are attached to an email, but not in Es File Explorer...
    Anyone have any suggestions??

What device? You may need to download a document viewing app.

I have had similar problems with Astro. I always assumed that it was due to the fact that while Astro can "see" the files on my LAN, the apps necessary to display the files cannot - Astro does not give these apps any ability to "see" beyond local storage. The same files, when copied to my microSD card, are easily opened from within Astro.

    Bump!

I have Quickoffice and Adobe Reader installed, but can't open a PDF found via ES File Explorer.

    Device is a Samsung Captivate.

    Any suggestions?

Over wlan the Estrongs File Explorer only can run files with its "build-in" viewer (.txt, pictures, music).
    I think it's a Android thing. :D
