Hi! In my Milestone/Droid i found that when the system hangs out, a very little red led on top left of the device blinks in rapid succession (noticed it coz was dark), like a hardrive led when reading. What is that led for?

That's the Droid plotting your destruction. :p

When you say top-left, do you mean in portrait or landscape? It's not the notification LED you are referring too, correct?

The red LED means your battery is low.

A green LED means you have a message from one app or another.

It's not the LED you can easily see located in the top right (vertical position). You can not see it if it is not on and is located in the top left (vertical position).

Wonder if you have a bad pixel in your screen?

Maybe a picture of your droid and showing us where the LED is?

Hes rt. I hadnt noticed that mine lights up but if you look at the phone in direct sunlight you can see that in the black area to the left of the speaker grill on the front of the droid there is a very tiny thing behind the screen. Similar to the notification led but way smaller

    Rondo.....

Isn't that the proxmity sensor? Get on a call and put your finger over it. The screen should black out.

But I've never seen it glow like an LED.....But I wonder if it has some sort of battery LED in it?

Lovely picture, i was not crazy! :p The closer to the speaker is the led, the other hole did not notice (until now, when approaching the phone near a very bright light and cleaning the surface).

Already checked, its not documented. I bet the most left one is the proximity sensor (?) and the infamous red led, a sort of read/write indicator or ineed, the RED LED OF DEATH. :O

Nobody of you guys experienced a system lock up in the dark?

The flashing red light you are referring to is the infered light from your Proxi sensor. No, you are not crazy. No, it does not mean anything. That is just how it works.

That could be! My phone hang when doing a phone call, so it has perfect sense.

I'll update if the Moto forums reply otherwise.

It is like any other infrared sensor... you'll always see a dim red light of some sort when you are in a very dark room. Of course, in most circumstances, it would just be on all the time and not flashing. I'm not sure why your phone is hanging, though. the sensor isn't flashing because of it. The sensor is just on because you are on a call.

My regular indicator light at the top right (when the phone is vertical) is blinking red. However, my battery is at 90% and it only blinks when I hit the button on the top right hand corner to lock the phone. When I hit the button the screen goes black as usual, but the indicator light blinks red...Motorola Droid.
