Am I correct in this? How did this happen?

(Yes, I know that many people got free EVO's at the Google I/O)

haha magic, i love that answer.

my physics two professor at OU would always say "can anyone explain why this happens" and the most common answer was "Magic Dr. Mason" and he would always accept that answer during lecture lol

as far as root, it depends on the phone, clearly the EVO is more easily rootable AND there is more of a demand for this phone to be rooted cause it has so many firsts that people want to tear in to... but mainly the first reason... it's not like the 3-4 different people that have successfully rooted the EVO in different ways haven't tried on the incredible, it's just easier on the EVO

This is what happens when you give out free phones to some of the smartest geeks on the planet.

It happened for a few reasons:

    1. HTC/Verizon have tied down a lot of the loopholes on the Incredible people usually exploit to obtain root.
    2. I'm guessing not many people bought Incredibles, in anticipation of phones like the EVO, Droid 2, etc.
    3. Free EVO phones to the attendees of Google's I/O conference.

Your next phone? You won't be happy with your Evo that long? Wow..... though I can't say much... haven't even had Android a full year yet and I'm already sick of the problems with my Hero that are un-fixable...

I haven't had mine either for a year. I had my Moment since December and am eligible for an upgrade in November. I have no idea what phones will be available at that time but I don't want a screen size any smaller than 4 inches.
