    Hi Everyone. First Time poster.

I know there's an EAS thread but I couldn't find a solid answer to this question - Does the Exchange ActiveSync implementation on the HTC Hero from Sprint support advanced security features of Exchange server mainly enforcing Pin Locking and enabling Remote Device Wipe via Exchange?

I know iPhone does and the Palm Pre does after WebOS v1.1. I'm very interested in the HTC Hero but need to be able to connect to my corporate exchange server. It's a large company so I cannot have my device added to an exception list or anything.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Darn. That's too bad. Hopefully, that'll be something taken care of in version 2.0.

    Thanks!

This is exactly the thing I think I need in order to be able to connect to my company's exchange email. Luckily I don't really need it on my phone but it's still nice to have.

This is the reason I think that I can't connect to my work's email as when I had my WM phone it requested this before it would connect to the server.

i have a PRO2 with a company exchange and the company server requires an PIN lock. the PRO2 does this no issues..

i have the hero using the same credentials as the PRO2 and the hero is still able to sync with the company's exchange regardless of the PIN lock.. also there was a CERT i needed to install on the PRO2 and that cert is not needed for the hero.

it does not support remote wipe at this time...

    Hey there.
I bought a HTC hero last week and just like you I had big problems setting up my corporate mail. In the process I have probaly been reading 200 threads on various forums, and have talked with HTC hotline.
My company have a pretty strickt policy regarding mail etc. They also have the pin lock feature.
Today I managed to sync my corporate mail server.
The answer is a third party program.
Get the program TOUCHDOWN. This program supports SSL, and pinlock. The cool thing is that it is not the phone that lockes, like the windows phones, but only the mailprogram that must be unlocked by entering a pincode.
Only downside is that the program cost a little cash, but ok....it is worth it.

I read that also roadsync should support this but havnt tried it out yet.
