Exchange Active Sync won't retrieve emails

Hello,
Still excited about my shiny new HTC Desire (Android 2.1) which I received last week. However, one really frustrating issue... I can't receive my emails!

I am able to (via EAS) send emails & sync Calendar & Contacts, but it's the receiving that I can't do... unless I delete & then re set up my EAS account which allows a single update of emails.

On the EAS screen, there is a message that states "Sync Protocol Error".

Also, when I'm in the office, I receive an error message concerning "Socket Errors".

Any help, assistance or pointers would be really useful

I have tried so many different things. It seems that using Moxier Mail is the only thing that seems to work. I've been going back to all the message board posts that I came across to share my solution. I hope it works for you.
