Support Exchange, "As Items Arrive", does not seem to work

    I have an Incredible. 2.2 is on there (aka FroYo). I am reasonably happy with the stock implementation of Exchange support except that the phone seems to be intermittent in it's willingness to sync "As items arrive". I have the thing set to "As Items Arrive" for both peak and off-peak. Sometimes it will show new mail (and bing at me) on it's own. Other times it doesn't, though it does seem to initiate a sync after I turn the phone on and go the mail app (or look at the sync settings screen in the control panel).

    Any idea what is going on?

    Change the default sync schedule of keeping (3) days of email to one (1) day and it will sync as items arrive.
