    Hi myTouch experts-

New here, and receiving my new myTouch 3g in the mail tomorrow. Someone mentioned that the Fender LE version has more RAM. Is it a significant enough boost to warrant an exchange? I don't really care for the wood grain look on the front of the LE, but if it runs better/faster I'd consider it.

    Thanks! :)

I haven't even tried the Fender edition but knowing that it has more memory and audio jack built-in, I'd seriously consider that over the normal Mytouch3G.
Audio jack adapter on our current MyTouch 3G is truly 'un-google'..

Thanks for the input. The 3.5mm jack is def a big plus, but not enough for me to send my standard MT3G back. I was just wondering if anyone had any real info on performance upgrades on the Fender LE. It's supposed to get Android 2.1 in the Spring so it must, right?

If it tips the scale, the LE comes with a 16GB SD card vs 4 GB from the myTouch.

However, T-Mobile is sticking to their standard LE policy and *not* allowing any returns on it, period. Even if it's defective within the first 14 days(or 30 days), they'll just warranty it out for you.

Thanks for the reply, but nah, all the superficial stuff like the 16GB SD card (that I can go buy for my standard MT), shell, and music software doesn't interest me ... It would have to be a faster processor and/or OS/firmware, which is what my question really is.

    Anyone else?

    Cheers! :)

I traded in my MT3G for the fender edition the day it came out, it does feel just a little bit quicker than the base model MT3G. and for me the 2.5 mm jack was worth it.

Alright, so I'm a little confused here. gsmArena.com reports that both the Fender and the myTouch have the same amount of RAM. But an HTC document states that the Fender has 96 MB more RAM than the mytouch. I think I'll lean towards what HTC is saying ;-)

ge the fender its worth the smaill increase in price.. you will be wishing you did when the fender gets 2.1 and the mytouch stays at 1.6. even if the reg mytouch gets 2.1 it wont run as nice because of the ram difference

IIRC it was only a $50 at the store, which for the bigger memory card, a 3.5mm headset jack, and more ram. To me that was worth it, despite I wanted to just get a generic black one. :p

Don't know if you have made your decision yet or not, but go with the Fender Edition! I love my Mytouch, but I would do anything to crank up the internal speed of it and I know that the add RAM would do that for sure. And the 3.5mm jack is an added plus, yes I am living without it with bluetooth and the adapter, but just being able to plug it in anywhere is actually quite convenient. Good luck!
