i am curious as to where to locate the android device id #. i guess it's a 16 digit sequence that syncs with the market/playstore. i am trying to use the apk downloader extension with google chrome, as it requires that info. currently i am awaiting a new battery to finish flashing my droid x, as it became too low to program. is there an android id # that is 16 digits (letters and numbers) on the external of the droid x?

Your gmail address is what is used to sync with the market.

The MEID is unique to the device. On the Droid X you can find it on a label under the battery (it is the last line).

If you can power on the Droid X you can enter *#06# on the dial pad and read the MEID on the screen.

The only time I have ever seen this used is by Motorola/Verizon to track a problem. This makes it specific to a device.
