My daughter gave up on the Hero because her cheek kept disconnecting on the touchpad

My Droid screen goes blank while I'm talking and can't be accidentally disconnected til it goes horizontal. Is the Hero different?

    Thanks,
    Barry

The Hero screen will timeout during a call, but doesn't switch off immediately on it's own during a call.

Check the marketplace - there are apps that can do this for you. I can't recall the name of any at the moment (shake2wake or something maybe?), but I'm sure another user can chime in with the names of a few for ya!

Go into the Apps Market and search for "Proximity Sensor". When installed, go to its settings and set everything to be associated with your Hero. Hope that helps!

Try Screebl lite. It's free, and it gives you control over both landscape and portrait positions.
