Help Facebook profile pictures after ICS update

Got my ICS update yesterday (yeey). Phone has become faster, there is no screenshot bug anymore and new fonts are great.

Although have this issue:

Profile pictures that are synced from facebook does not work as they supposed to. I can see them in my Phone book (people) and original HTC messaging app, but they dont work in other apps - like Photo Contacts widget, Go Contacts widget, Whatsapp.

Anyone have the same issue ? Any suggestions on how to fix this ?

Had the same problem, then got this in an email the other day...

I did read somewhere that this could have something to do with the issue. Maybe when this is back up the issue would sort itself out?

It's not ICS that's not working...it's your 3rd party apps..!

I would say that as they are working in the native HTC and android apps that came with the phone, they are working as they should.

3rd party Applications, built by developers, build to OS release builds and versions. ICS compatibility is the issue. The fault lies with the app, not the OS usually.

Once the app developers rewrite their apps to include ICS I'm sure they'll work again as you say they should.

This goes for SkyGo and Bejeweled2. Two apps that won't work as they should on ICS.

Someone has mentioned the same issue on the Samsung Glaxy S2 since the update so it must be ICS.

I've gone back to using the stock messaging app until the Apps are fixed.

Just received the following in an email:

As it is limited by new Google system, third party softwares could not get permissions to access facebook to get data in order to protect user privacy. Could you pls use local contact list or sync Gmail.

Where did this email come from?

What I don't understand is that pictures and status updates are appearing in my contact list so why isn't the messaging app picking this up?

HaxSync will fix it for you.

This might fix the issue but it says it does things that my phone is already doing.

I'm already getting Facebook pictures and status updates in my people app and I can get the Facebook events in my calendar.

The email came from handcent themselves after I told them about the problem. Whether they well release a fix for it is anyone's guess.
