Help Facebook synching

I just got my new phone last night. I downloaded Facebook however when I go to accounts to synch my information.....the icon appears as one of the options but it won't let me select it to synch the account with my phone. It just highlights it but won't let me open it up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks

After entering your credentials into the spaces provided using your phone and submitting the data, your phone should automatically sync with Facebook and, depending on your phone's settings, should change the pictures in your contacts app to those of your friends' profile pictures.

The Facebook app has been having a lot of issues lately. If you mainly use it for chatting, I suggest you download the Facebook chat app called Messenger. It's much faster and more user friendly than the actual Facebook app.

If you plan to use Facebook on your phone for the actual features of commenting on posts, submitting posts, etc. then I suggest you use your internet browser for Facebook.com. It's faster, looks better, and runs smoother than the app.

Updated recently and seems to be working better. Not sure why it took so long to get facebook to work on Android the way it works on Blackberry....

It could have been the hardware and the way your device was communicating with mobile data. If you tried it over WiFi, it could have been a hiccup in the operating system.

Thanks for the help....I still haven't had any luck. I guess I will wait until the next facebook update to see if that works. All I really use it for is to sync the contact pictures...

You actually dont need the application to sync contact pictures. All you have to do is go into Settings > Accounts > Add Account. Add your Facebook account and it will automatically sync all of your contacts to your phones' contacts. If the names are the same, it will merge them automatically.

I think that syncing option was taken out by Android because they didn't want Facebook having access to the contacts. It stopped working on mine awhile ago so I researched it a little bit and all I could find was that it doesn't work anymore.
