Is there any way to remove that social networking crap from the phone?
If you hate it so much just remove the widgets.
It is possible to remove things such as Peep if you have root access, but I doubt you could get rid of all mentions of it.
Why the attitude?
There are no "widgets" that I can find. It's part of the contact info for a person, and I haven't found a way to not display it.
I find it kind of surprising that they would assume everyone uses that stuff and include it in the OS. Seems fairly pointless to me considering the "flash-in-the-pan" nature of most social networking sites.
I think its just part of the sense UI. Installing a vanilla custom ROM will get rid of it.
I am not quite sure what you mean. I don't use any social networking sites and I don't have relevant fields filled for any of my contacts, and I have to search very hard to even find a mention of farcebook or twatter in contact info.
It doesn't bother me either and most of the time i use the phone I don't even notice it. I have to actively go to the tab on the person contact info to get the facebook/twitter info.
loffle, just loffle ...
