Should we do a factory reset after unistalling apps so that we make sure that every bit of info is gone from that app or can we avoid that

Are you talking about restarting the phone? Powering the phone off and then turning it back on is more like rebooting a computer. A factory reset wipes everything and returns the phone back to the way it was when you purchased it. Doing a factory reset after uninstalling an app would eliminate all your apps.

If you are uninstalling an app because it was causing problems then a restart of the phone might be useful. It will give everything a fresh running start.

No that's not what I meant. I meant a factory reset because some apps create files that cannot be found so will a factory reset optimize your phone after this

That would be crazy. I install and uninstall a huge amount of apps w/o performance decreases. It's not like the windows OS, where when you uninstall an application, there are usually registry files, temporary files, possibly even a service. In android, when you uninstall, the most I've seen left are some folders in my SD card that were used as storage for app addons. If you did a factory reset, you would have to reload all your settings, home screens, and remaining apps quite often, depending on how frequently you install and uninstall apps. The short answer: No.

I recently installed twidroid and uninstalled it and when i debug the phone twidroid still shows up as a background service. So im not sure EVERYTHING system wise goes away when you uninstall. I wrote the devs and they dont know whats going on either. could just be my phone. could be the code - dont know.

Under normal circumstances i would say no to a factory reset.

Its overkill really. You could do it, but I doubt you are really going to see any improvement from it. You will probably install quite a few apps over the life of the phone, doing a factory reset after uninstalling each one will really only lead to a lot of extra effort on your part. Put it this way, I would have done 50 to 60 factory resets by now if I was to do this.
