Many times the long layoff makes fans lose interest. It happened to one of my favorite shows (Flash Forward) during the strike.

I think Heroes died because the quality deteriorated dramatically after the first season. (not that I wouldn't keep watching just to look at Hayden Panettiere lol)

I thought it rocked until the strike. Then they had that weird shortened season (it sucked), but then it was solid again. Then dead of course

I don't think a long layoff hurts that much as long as its between seasons. It's when they split it in the middle for too long that really kills momentum. It's like "wait, who is that guy again?"

After watching the season 2 premiere, I still feel like I want to like this show more than I actually do. I like it okay, but it just feels like something is missing that I can't quite put my finger on.

That void left by Game of Thrones is gonna take some filling lol, but Falling Skies is a good start.

I was unsure about Falling Skies through the first season, but it is improving as we go, which is a good sign.

These are the only two shows I watch on TV, well and wrestling from time to time.

IMO, this weeks episode was the best one so far. I think this is the first time I actually cared about any of the characters. Hopefully this is a sign of better things to come.

the daughter part was REALLY good. I NEVER saw that coming!

I have to say, the last few episodes have been really good. It's too bad some other shows haven't been given this much time to find their footing. (Terra Nova, for one example)

Anybody watching the premiere of Falling Skies on TNT? It seems pretty good so far. It kinda reminds me of The Walking Dead but with aliens instead of zombies.

I prefer the Falling Dead. Saves lots of viewing time.

That said...
Why does the mechs have to moan as the walk?
Why do the skitters not use weapons?
Why do advanced mech technology.. Can't find fighters hiding a few yards away...
So much more silly things...

1. They are manufactured by Unions on their home planet and there is no QC department. The moan comes from improper lubrication.

2. The writers deemed them unnecessary and there are gun laws to contend with.

3. Apple--their inventor--owns all Mech patents and associated technology and the Mech's lawyers fear a lawsuit.

I have a question too.

With all of the scrounging around for food, fuel, and other necessities, barely surviving, always dirty, etc, how is it that every single one of them has sparkling white teeth?
