What's launcher do you guys recommend/prefer? I came over from an HTC EVO and loved the Sense UI due to it's ultra smooth scrolling. I didn't care too much for the pinch out to view all screens, but the scrolling was ultra smooth as well as it's widgets. Is there a launcher out there that can match the Sense UI launcher?

I recommend LauncherPro Plus for the widgets and customization. I also recommend adding a poll to this :)

LPP is great, very fast for me, no lag. And the developer is what makes LPP the best imo. Constant updates and fixes, he really stays on top of things. The customization is great on it, and the bottom scrolling dock is just an awesome feature I can't live without now!

I know LPP seems like the usual favorite in these forums, but I like ADW.Launcher just a hair better myself. I tried both and liked both (many of the same customizable features and similar performance). The thing that put me over the line for ADW was the greater control over the number of rows/colums of icons on each home screen for both portrait and landscape mode. Also, I love the 'secret' icon list underneath the dock. Sweet!

LPP runs smooth for me. Installed it two weeks ago and haven't regretted it. I like the customization :)

Been using LauncherPro, switching to ADW.Launcher. I like LP, but I get 3-4 force closes a day after using an app that is natively landscape and having autorotation enable. I disable autorotation for a week and didn't have a single FC, the reenabled it, and back they came. I've been submitting the error logs to LP on their forum, but I installed ADW yesterday and haven't had a single FC since AND have been able to leave autrotation enabled. So as soon as I finish setting up ADW, I'll make one last backup of my LP setup and then delete it. Hopefully they will fix it and I can try it again, but it's just not working for me the way I have my handset set up.

    I'm using launcher pro plus.

However, because I came from a touch diamond running sense I have a few Sense type widgets...
-I'm using fancy widgets to get an htc style clock (with weather that is linked to the weather channel app... I like that I can link the homescreen widget to whatever weather app I want).
-I'm using the smooth calendar widget which gives me my next 3 calendar appointments on my home screen.
-I'm using dialer one to get T9 dialing capability (can't believe Motorola didn't include that in the stock dialer).

I'm still looking for a messaging widget that will fit in the remaing 1x4 space on my home screen that will list the number of unread text/email/gmail messages. I really, really, really wish I could add the email account icons that show up in the messaging app to the home screen.

Used to be exclusive with ADW.Launcher, and now I am Launcher Pro Plus all the way. Its widgets are quite sexy.

Bumping an old thread because, after fretting with lagging launchers (LP and ADW), I have dumped both and am now using ZEAM Launcher. Sure, it's lightweight, scaled down, and doesn't have the bells and whistles, but..... IT DOESN'T LAG. ADW was better than LP for me, but even ADW was having issues. So my 2 cents worth.... give Zeam a try if you want a glitch and lag free launcher.
