Help Finding Hidden Folders with broken Screen

So i broke my LCD screen to the point where it cannot be used.
I am trying to recover some of my hidden folders, but they are not displaying.

I have already enabled viewing hidden files:

Control Panel > Folder Options > View tab > check Show Hidden files folders and drives..

But these are still not showing up.

the folders were named ".private"

Can anyone help recover these?
I am using window 7 and 8 but had no luck.

Hello and welcome to the forums . you say you damage a screen . correction its called a digitalizer . now can I ask was you rooted and what hidden files do you want .

Unfortunately it was not rooted. I am trying to recover pictures that were put in a hidden folder.

No problem the only pictures are on the SD card which is the dcmi if you changed to a different folder you need the phone to complete a small task that would help you to get the folders to show on the PC /laptop . such task which may need to swipe or pull down status bar

The files were moved out of DCMI and put into a folder name ".private". Since I cannot swipe am I out of luck? I can access every folder and file but the ones with a "." in frot of them.

Try to remove the SD card when the phone is powered off . put SD card into the adapter that u got with it . put the adapter with the SD card from the device into the slot on the PC/laptop . let all the folders load up and maybe it may show up as on the SD card . open each folder to see such as the one labeled android .

It is a Galaxy S3 and there is no SD card added to it. The folder is on the internal HD
