I do hope that this fixes at least half of the issues present with this phone, or I'm just dropping it like it's some demonic afterbirth spawn of satan.

Looks like the satellite isn't even on that's why it's searching lol..... When should we expect this to hit our phones? Ohh and I wonder how the battery life is? If it has improved or not with 2.1?

Any chance they added screenshots inside the market when looking for apps?

This may seem like a silly question, but isn't 2.1 "suppose" to be Flan?

Maybe that got debunked at some point that I just missed out on, but I am confused.. lol The sequence that I was aware of was 1.5 Cupcake, 1.6 Donut, 2.0 Eclair, 2.1 Flan..... ??

I think 2.1 is considered to be Eclair as well.

Ya it is... 2.0 and 2.0.1 had some inherent flaws and weren't considered 100% implementations, 2.1 was a minor implementation to fix some of these problems..
If you go to the sdk site
    Android SDK | Android Developers
you will see 1.5, 1.6 and 2.1 are active platforms.. while 2.0 and 2.0.1 are considered older...

Apple's still causing too much trouble for multi-touch to be enabled. I wish a judge would hurry up and squash their argument that moving my fingers on a screen is a patented process...

yes - fix the radio issue... I'm getting a new Moment today because that was Sprint's answer to the radio problem... I wasn't going to turn down a new device... 2.1 can not come out soon enough...

Why should this hinder the moment in getting multitouch? Didn't the Droid and Nexus 1 just recently have theirs enabled?

Yeah but Palm is riding Apple at every turn. Just look at how much commotion they've caused with the whole iTunes thing.

As others have stated 2.0 and 2.1 were both considered Eclair. There is no such thing as Flan. The next revision is Froyo, but we don't know specifically would the version is (2.2? 2.5? 3.0?). The Evo 4G is supposedly going to be the first device to run Froyo unless the N1 or something else gets updated before the Evo release.

2.6.32 is going to be Froyo
    and then
2.6.33 or 34 is going to be Gingerbread, according to an Android Kernel dude.

both of which I already have.

Uhhh....I think you're talking about the kernal version numbers...somewhat separate from the Android version number.

Each company that enables multi-touch officially is making a challenge that Apple can use to file lawsuits over. Google (I think?) has been in a suit with them for a while over multitouch in general (maybe its palm actually) and those who have adopted multitouch in the meantime are gambling on whether or not Apple will lose and multitouch will be made free use.

Google owns N1, Motorola owns Droid.

Palm's on the verge of going out of business so they probably feel they have nothing to lose.

This is all mostly wild speculation... I'm sure someone can/will come in and correct me where I'm wrong.
