Flashing Custom ROM. Does unlock revert back

Hi,

I am planning to buy an unlock code for my HTC Aria and SIM unlock it.

After unlocking it, if i root the device
OR
if i install a custom ROM
OR
If i install the new Froyo (When AT&T releases it)


Under these circumstances or any other circumstances, does the unlock revert back and make the phone locked again???

unlocking the operator SIM code has nothing to do with rooting or restoring (flashing device back to operator default) the device.
