Root Flashing T-Mobile Firmware to Metro PCS Galaxy Avant

Hello, I have a Metro PCS Samsung Galaxy Avant (SM-G386T1) and was wondering if it is possible to flash the T-Mobile firware (SM-G386T) to my device? If so, will I still be able to use the device with my Metro PCS service? Thanks for any and all help!

On a related note, has anyone encountered the Galaxy Avant outside of these two carriers?

I ask because I'm currently overseas and nobody here has ever heard of this model. I see S4s, S5s, Megas and a range of smaller, lower spec phones (Galaxy "Ace" anyone?), but nothing quite like the Avant.

Did Samsung produce this phone exclusively for T-Mobile/MetroPCS? And given how obscure the Avant is, can we ever hope to see a decent selection of custom ROMs?

Really regretting my decision to save a buck (actually, several hundred bucks) by choosing the Avant over an S4/S5.

It is very similar to the galaxy core lte which is sold in canada. I can't say for sure that it is the same hardware but its at least a close relative.

Other users have reported that after flashing the T-Mobile firmware on a metropcs avant, they can get it activated with T-Mobile without paying for an unlock code.

I flashed with a tmobile firmware my galaxy avant and my device accept tmobile sim card now
but I lost my IMei unlock :/ It was unlock to accept any sim card worldwide . Now I don't know if I need to unlocked again.
