Has anyone been able to get Flight notifications / information via Google Now just by putting your flight information into a calendar event? It has never worked for me, but I'm assuming that the app just isn't recognizing the flight in the format I entered it. Specifically, can anyone let me know how to input a calendar invite for a Southwest Flight so that Google Now automatically picks it up and works it's magic?

So far the flight notification information has worked for me when I receive a copy of my itinerary. Actually, none of my calender entries have popped up on Google Now. It might not be a supported feature :/

Yes, from what I can see, Google Now grabs the information from GMail. While I like Google's Calendar, I'm disappointed that it isn't better integrated -- for example, it doesn't seem to have a way to link contacts into appointments you make.

I did a quick flight search for my father in law and some flight info popped up in my cards. Google Now is just that good :D

The flight info is indeed snagged from your gmail account if you've sent it there. My boyfriend has to fly out to California every Sunday night, and flies back home every Thursday evening (he works out there). More often times than not, I get updates about his flight before he does because his itinerary gets sent to his work email and not his Gmail address (he forwards them to me each week).

I got this today. :( Lucky for him though that he changed his flight because he has to stay out there for an extra day, and can't fly back till Saturday.

Guess I'll have to start having corporate travel send my itinerary to my gmail as well as my work email. Annoying that it doesn't grab it from the calendar.

It does grab the calendar entry as an appointment and gives me directions to the airport but is off on what time to go since it doesn't consider time to get through security and boarding 30 minutes before actual takeoff.

You could always, on your calendar, list the time you feel you need to be at the airport and put the actual flight time in the Description. Another thought is that you can list getting to the airport and the actual flight as two separate calendar entries.

Is Calendar finding the address on its own or do you have to manually enter it? So far, I've always had to manually enter the address, that was my complaint. I would like to see Google integrate my contacts with my calendar.

When I create my calendar appointment I always put in the location of the appointment. Thats what GNow is reading. There has to be some manual entry for many of these things I would imagine. How would anyone/anything know where your dinner appointment is if you don't enter it?
