Those Apple fanboys barely even acknowledge the EVO event today. 1 post, that's it. 1 post. Please... if Steve Jobs farted they would spend the better part of a week with post after post talking about his fart, how it smelled, how amazing it is. "The iFart, the best thing ever"...blah blah blah.

    Bl*w me Gizmodo.

I mean it's pretty ridiculous...this is HUGE tech news. iPhone fan or not. I really used to like them, but I'm done with them now. Engadget all the way.

Even BGR covered it and I've seen them post that they're iPhone biased.

I just follow engadet. It seems to have more variety except for when apple releases a new product. Other than that I really don't like gizmodo.

This message is being sent from my Incredible not using Tapatalk!

Engadget is way better, they actually report on everything and not just what they want.

The only thing I like about Gizmodo is their stuff on photography and interesting art type things. For tech though I'm always on Engadget.

    Yeah..thats the 1 post.
My point is there has been nothing else. No breakdowns, comparisons. Nothing regarding potential impact, etc, etc...

If it were an iPhone launch there would be post, after post, after post talking about anything and everything. I generally don't flame but this really pissed me off. I've been out all evening for work, I happened to catch a little bit of the news at the start of the launch but was expecting to come home tonight to read all the tech blogs and get info, opinions and whatever else. Gizmodo was one of my top sites and when I checked it...nothing, scroll down... nothing, scroll down...oh look the 1 post about the newest, "greatest" mobile device in the country. Really?! That's it? Nothing else? NOPE.

they really are ridiculous. if you look at the featured articles at the top 2 of them are old news about the upcoming iphone... and the evo is nowhere to be seen.

I'm assuming it is still up there because they want to milk the fact that they leaked the iPhone 4G (HD?) first....even though they spent $5,000 to do so....

    Engadget FTW!

Engadget hasn't even mentioned anything about the EVO 4g post Sprint release party. At least Giz had one post on it.

Actually your wrong. They had two posts, 1 during and 1 after the launch party, the second of which at least provided us with some real meat and potatoes:
Sprint's HTC EVO 4G put through its bandwidth-sucking paces -- Engadget

I am so with you on this sentiment. The self feeding reporting/advertising loop Apple has is an amazing phenomenon to me. I was so pissed yesterday expecting to find good new information about the Evo, and I hardly see a peep from Gizmodo, and others. What a complete let down. As mentioned some credit is due to Engadget.

I'm going to pick on Gizmodo for a bit, since I'm most familiar with them. If anything this an excellent case study in bias. A lot of tech blogs really missed the boat on this and to me, speaks to their technical prowess. Are they true gadget heads, or just Apple fanboys? Apple certainly isn't giving them much reason to be so biased.

I'm not expecting full front pages of Evo news (like Apple receives), because that's frankly boring, but they should give some credit. The Evo is a competitor.

Also now that I think of it, two more observations to throw out there for wild speculation:
    1. It seemed the Incredible received better coverage from the tech sites, so is there some form of payola going on? This is an on-going watch.
    2. How convenient that another iPhone 4G was found yesterday in Vietnam (and now France?).

Just saw a post over there from Jesus Diaz (who may be the biggest apple fanboy over there) blasting Jobs and Apple's take on censorship, so perhaps the Apple grip on them is loosening a little. I suppose that happens when a company kicks in the door of the editor.

But I prefer Engadget myself as well, though I do have both on my RSS feed.

I have it on my Pre but honestly don't see the point. I can just get the full non-stripped-down website in the browser without limitations.

I stopped reading Gizmodo when they were all over the iPad. Some of the articles they had for that thing were absolutely ridiculous.

Engadget can be a little annoying sometimes but they aren't nearly as bad as Gizmodo.
