For those who swear MetroPCS's LTE network is not that great.

4G LTE Network | Verizon Wireless

I personally get consistent speeds that are faster than both Sprint and T-Mobile. I've also seen lots of posts from people in L.A. and FL who get the same speeds. It is expected that with the launch of the S3 we will begin seeing speeds in the 10mb range which would put us close to the AT&T average. With those being the average high-end network speeds of the big 4, I'd say there's NOTING AT ALL wrong with our network for $55/month.

That's the average 4g speeds of those carriers , if you got the average 4g speed of metro, it would be significantly lower than all of those.

Still metro is doing well for a prepaid network who didn't get 4g from their parent company.

Especially since Metro doesn't have a parent company.

Well I guess it sucks for those who are in unfortunate areas, but speaking for myself from a suburb in Michigan, it feels awesome to know that my data speeds range higher than the average speeds of 2 much larger carriers. Makes me feel extra comfortable as a subscriber and more confident that I won't be going anywhere.

Yeah if you get good service and great data speeds, I would upgrade to the s3. Can't beat 55 unlimited for those speeds with a High end phone. Metro just needs a few more high end phones and more coverage and it'll easily become one of the big five ha. Or replace Tmo/sprint.

as long as I get at least 1mbps on my phone im happy. Why would you need 10mbps on your phone? downloading with this sort of speed is going to kill battery with in hours. Not even mention that they will throttle you.

I really want to have 100 mbps on my pc but thats too expensive. You ask me why? bluray movies.

i get 5-6mbps down where i live which is more than enough to stream and load whatever is on the web without a problem. there are still some spots that are slow but even in those spots the signal has improved. consistency is just as, if not more, important than speed.

the place where having 30mbps speeds comes in handy is when you're downloading large files(coughporncough).

if metro's roolout goes as planned we'll all be downloading at 10mbps sometime next year which will be gravy since we dont get throttled.

Honestly my speed isn't that great where I live, roughly 1.5-3 mbps down and 3-4 mbps up. However the only other ones who offer 4G service in my area are ATT and Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile don't even offer 3G service. So while the speed isn't the best in the world its still plenty fast enough for me and you can't beat unlimited data and consistent signal strength for a mere $55 a month.

MetroPCS 4G speeds are decent enough where available. MetroPCS said we should a increase to 8-12 Mbps down on average hopefully sometime next year. MetroPCS even did a test in Dallas where they hit 80 Mbps.

From my house and most of the local area here in NYC I'm getting about 1.3M down. While that may not be up to snuff for true 4G, it's still plenty fast for anything I need to do on the phone and approx. 10x faster than what I was getting before on 1x. There are a few places nearby where I've seen 5M, hopefully as Metro upgrades the network that will eventually be everywhere.

Wouldn't be surprised, 4g lte can go up to 300mbs in 20mhz. I'm sure carriers have been testing higher speeds.

I have no doubts it could get that high. Im sure everyone tests their network to see how high it can go but its still kinda pointless being that 1/100th of those speeds are actually used.

Im in Palm Beach,Fl & within the past maybe 2 months my speeds have been degrading it went from 5mbps to 3 or 4 now it's 1.7 . My guess is everyne moving to 4G with the LTE For All promotion. I know down here right now we're on 3mhz of bandwidth but I just can't wait till they start using all the spectrum available & then when they start reframing

my speeeds are usualy around 5D and 5U almost every where.

Since I have been having abysmal I started looking around to see if I could find when they might start refarming spectrum. Well I found this & I'm lazy so I'll just quote myself

I saw they are way better then before my speeds would of barely reach 4 or 5 now they double i heard by the end of this year that most metropcs with have a bandwidth of 10 ! now i currently have a bandwidth of 5 to check your bandwidth go to dial pad ##626* and enter your mied code go to field test screen and scroll down to bandwidth and it should tell you how much is being available
