Force phone into USB storage enabled?

I cant seem to find my USB drives so i am using my phones memory stick as a usb device.

my plan is to reinstall linux onto my netbook, but for this to happen, I need my phones USB storage enabled constantly throughout my netbooks bootup or else it just doesnt detect the boot files and loads normally.

is there any way to force the USB storage to stay activated even when not receiving signal from the computer? because right now it flips on and off during bootup and i have to keep reactivating it, but by that time the computer just ignores it and boots normally.

Good question. You might try the never ask again option when you plug the phone in and select usb storage...
