Froze at boot after successful restore

    Hoping someone has a suggestion.
I recently flashed a rom and noticed my internal memory was damn near full even after doing a full wipe prior to the rom flash.
So I decided to format data from recovery which successfully emptied the internal, I then restored my OG rooted backup. That went perfect, it booted normally after the restore, but after the initial reboot it gets stuck on the next reboot. ...everytime.
I've redone this 4 or 5 times with the same outcome.
    Suggestions please

If it were me, I would back up the apps I wanna keep. Then reinstall the rom fresh & restore the backed up apps. Sounds like something is wrong with the backup you have now

Thats what I thought initially too, but I've tried 2 different backups & 2 other ROMS.....same result on all. It'll boot after the install but after that the next reboot gets stuck on the Samsung splash screen or boot animation depending on which one I've tried to install (B.U. or ROM

    Try flashing a different kernel.

Had the same problem after factory reset via TWRP. Any backup worked but at second reboot got stuck on the Samsung splash screen. The only way I could solve the problem was flashing stock firmware via Odin, rooting again then installed TWRP, tried the restore again and the phone rebooted as usual. Weird right?

Yup, had to do that.... was trying anything to avoid doing that. Actually glad now, my phone is fast as hell. Didn't even realize it had slowed down any but it's noticeably faster.... it worked out for the best. Thanks for the suggestions everyone

Btw, I also switched from TWRP to Ouds CWM then reformatted my data when rerooting my phone. I miss TWRP, especially the layout and the speed but its just got a few to many reliability issues.
