galaxy apollo 15800 problem

my galaxy phone connects to the internet each time I switch it on costing me 50p [I,m on payg] I have been in touch with customer services at Asda followed their instructions and my phone is now disconnected with no further charge.Problem is I dont know how to connect to internet if I need too.Is there any way a simple on/off internet connection can be programmed in?

There is usually a switch in
Settings ->Wireless & Networks -> Turn On packet Data

You can tick to enable and untick to disable the service .
