Help galaxy exhilarate ics update FAIL

I decided to update my exhilarate to ics 4. Ok now with that said I did the update and it said update was complete but when my phone rebooted the "samsung" screen popped up then the "rethink possible" ATT screen popped up and is now stuck there. Screen is lit up all the time and has a short vibrate to it every 10 sec or so. I try to connect to Kies and it see's I577 for a few seconds then says its not connected. I tried removing battery for a while ...no help. Anyone with any ideas would be greatally appreciated. Also I cant get phone to go into recover or download mode.
