Everything is running perfect now...If only I could find something for this reception though. Come on updates!!!

I just dont understand...I am right next to my wireless router with afull wifi signal, and it is grey...The signal is grey and it won't let me browse the web or anything. This happens all the time too...with wifi, 3g and 4g. I just don't understand...I try to make phone calls and I can't because its friggin grey. God this phone is really starting to piss me off...

I really like mine and it most certainly improves the grip. I did have to cut out the volume buttons as others have because it was far too easy to change the volume.

Same. Far, far better than my OG Droid and completely blows my DX out of the water. Tested it out driving home last night from one of my offices.. licked in within seconds from inside the building (OG Droid did this sometimes when the planets were aligned right, DX *never* got a gps signal there). Also, both of the droids would get very warm.. the DX actually got uncomfortably hot when using GPS.. I'd have to have it in front of a vent in the car to keep it cool. It'd reboot randomly all the time. The GNex wasn't even slightly warm after a 50 minute drive home, no reboots and not in front of a vent. Very impressed with that aspect of the phone.

i unlocked the bootloader early, was much much easier than i thought it would be. if you have any issues, ask away and ill help as much as i can. getting SDK properly setup is the biggest part

You might have a defective phone. When I was setting mine up at the office yesterday I was picking up the wireless network from the hotel across the street. My laptop doesn't even do that.

I've seen a few folks say this about getting sdk set up. I didn't set anything up with sdk (I have before rooting the Inc last year), but rather used mskip's guide over at XDA. It took 15 minutes to unlock, root, and flash CWM. Of course that is after about an hour reading over the guide prior :p.

I am too. I've never been so pleased with a phone ever. Period. There is nothing wrong with it at all. It's gorgeous inside and out :D:D

I have the bootloader unlocked. The su.zip is giving me a problem for root.

Yeah I'm sorry that some have had troubles. Mine is sitting next to me and I just took a call where I've LITERALLY never been able to hold a cell call yet (tried on Inc, Eris, and Continuum) and it sounded perfect. Battery life blows donkey sometimes, and sometimes its amazing. Can't wait for a fix for this OS keep awake bug.

I'm not getting any "os bug keep awake" issues that I am aware of. Battery life has been stellar for me

All I advise people doing is to read over it real good twice or even 3 times. Just to make sure you understand what you are doing. It makes it a lot easier and less stressful! Guess my OCD pays off at times like these :p

Also there is a newer version of CWM out now it's 5.5.0.4. You can just flash it using ROM manager free (what I did).

Okay. I'm rooted. I had to physically put the su.zip in my phone. It would not "push" in step 5 AT ALL. If you put it in the phone internal sdcard yourself then skip step 5.

    1. How do I know I'm rooted? Unlocking bootloader has the unlocked lock on the screen. Before I unplugged from my laptop I did notice an ice cream sandwich on the status bar with a bite taken out of it.

    2. Should I download the the apps I want and set up contacts and such before before I download rom manager and make a back up or download rom manager and do the back up first? Do I need rom manager premium or is free okay?

    3. Do I need to do permanent clockwork recovery?

I think you'll see a Superuser "app" in your drawer if you're properly rooted.

unlocking the bootloader was intimidating enough, this stuff is now getting to make me nervous haha.

so, now that i have unlocked, i should root and install CWM as the most logical next 2 steps? and rom manager, DL from the market?

Wow! I just set my phone to charge for the first time today and checked the battery stats...off the charger for 8 hrs, 13 mins and battery was at 27%! And that was with me playing with it all day. This phone rocks!

Hey, Halon, I moved all of my old Droid sd card folders onto my Nexus because that was where I kept all my data and books, pictures, ringtones, etc., and let the apps reinstall from android market. They did that automatically. It was fast! Then I got my phone pretty much how I wanted it making sure the apps restored the data. Some of them needed Titanium Backup and some could just use the backups from the card. Finally, I did the part with ROM Manager. Worked out well as now my backup will have everything perfect. I don't know if that helps at all?
