    Makes sense.
 She quit? Who's going to be our source for the next Nexus pre-release thread??
    Han definitely shot first here.

But I guess he'll be shooting blanks from now on. Zinggggg.
When I was younger, I really thought I wanted kids. I even had it planned - twin girls, and an older son to watch out for them. However, as I get a little older, I'm quickly beginning to realize that three kids would be an incredibly tough assignment. Also, I'm fairly sure that if I had a girl (or girls), that I would be one of those super crazy fathers who threatened every boy who set foot near them. I've been really re-thinking the whole kids thing lately.

I'm shocked that the ladies of the Watering Hole haven't weighed in on the discussion involving the male genitalia.

    ^ this!
And we're more than happy to talk about the female side. Well, not me but perhaps others...

    Hi folks!

Well the SGS3 thread is alight with BAD news:

Others are saying their CSRs told them that the pre-order was the lock, and unlimited data was assured. I just emailed Verizon to clarify.

I it means losing our unlimited plans and getting dumped into a family bucket, I WILL cancel the pre-order and pay full retail for a phone for the Darling Bride. It will actually save us money.

I'll let you know what Verizon's e-mail tells me.

Ugh, pisses me off. If we stay in DC, it's possible we may dump Verizon when our next upgrade comes up. Conversely, the share plan isn't SO terrible.

But Cheif...the Verizon CSR told me this morning that the Family Share plans weren't going into effect until the end of the year and they didn't even have pricing set yet! How oh how can they say it is June 28th now???

Thanks for the positive words, everyone. It's nice being part of such a great community that respects one another. We decided not to have kids and that was our decision to make, and we both know it's the right decision. It's pretty amazing how many people disagree with our decision. And some people just won't leave it alone... "When are you having kids?" Ummm, we're not. "You should have them!" We don't want them. "But you should have them!" I want my wife to start crying and run out of the room screaming, "I"m barren!" or something to that effect, but she won't do it. Not like I want to make light of that very serious/real condition that some families do actually face, but I want to do those things to get people to just... leave... us... alone. My wife just tells everyone we have "furry babies" (three cats and a dog) but that response usually illicits an eye-roll from the other person. At least they change the subject after that.

I'll never forget this one encounter: I'm standing in line at the grocery store on my way home, and someone turns around to say hello to me. It was someone that used to work at the bank I worked at, and I hadn't seen her in years. One of the first things out of her mouth was, "How many kids do you have?!" I told her none. She asked when we were going to start a family? I said we're not, we don't want kids. She said we "needed a few kids" and I politely told her that no, we don't. She insisted that we needed not one, but several children. I couldn't take it anymore so I said, "Can I have your phone number?" She was about to ask me why when I continued, "So when this baby that we don't want, but you think we need, needs a diaper change in the the middle of the night, I can call you to come over and assist?" Her expression dropped, and she turned around and didn't say another word to me. I mean, I hated that it came to that, but what choice did I have?

Anyway, Han, there's really nothing to it. As dreadnatty08 said, the Xanax was more for the anxiety than pain. And it worked, because I realy didn't care. You could have set me on fire at that point and I wouldn't have cared. :D They used a local and aside from a little discomfort as they worked, there was no pain.

And I didn't mind the female urologist. She came highly recommended from my regular doctor. She was super nice and had a great sense of humor. She left the practice a few years ago to move closer to her family and I was sad because she was really cool.

haha, I have no comment. I'm not in any form of a serious relationship, so this isn't something I think much about. Though it was interesting to read what men had to say about such topic. Kudos to those that are willing to mutilate themselves all to pleasure their beloved wives and make their wives' lives easier, lol :)

Eh, it's not mutilation...it's reversible sometimes, lol.

Lucky, wow for opening up to us. If this happened in Rocky Mount, I'm not surprised (I lived in Hickory, NC for a while). Regional differences of Americans are pretty incredible. I think, for the most part, city folk handle childlessness much better. At least in DC, we're still one of the few married couples at only 26. All of our friends are older and aren't married. I always say stand tall for your beliefs and don't let anyone else get to you!

I know, I was being sarcastic. :) I was looking at the press release with the pricing and announced launch date while on the phone with the woman. I wanted to know what the bill would be with my discounts and she spouted off they didn't even know prices or a launch date yet but it should be the end of the year, lol. I tried correcting her and she interrupted me and basically said she was right and I was wrong.

Ok, I'm now caught up. Had to run errands and go to my part time job and get my 401K rollover started.
I commend anyone who has this done, whether its for personal preference of not wanting kids, not wanting kids due to medical reasons or having it done because you don't want any more offspring. It is a highly personal decision for couples and I am honored that some of you have shared your stories.
I fall into the category of medical issues if I were to get pregnant again. I was diagnosed with MS after Ann and my doctor said I'd have an even harder time recovering from another pregnancy so a neutering of either me or my other half would be in my future.

Sorry Geek, I'm a bit preoccupied today and not in a receptive mood for sarcasm... maybe some lurker or new member can get hold of it and use it :)

Icon tag says "smoking sombrero" which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe interpret it as a statement made while in a pot-induced stupor? :D

    Oh...:smokingsomb:

We had 6 at one point... brother/sister (our two original), and then a mama with three kittens. The mama wanted very much to be outside, and we didn't realize it until we started letting her out. Her behavior changed very much so for the better, that is until she was denied to go out and then it was 10 times worse. We let her out one evening and she never came back. Happy thoughts are that she got adoped by another family. Reality is that something probably got her. :( Hope that's not the case but if so, I can only hope it was quick and painless.

We had to put our two original cats to sleep last year. I hope I never have to do that again as that was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. Scarlett first, then 6 weeks later her brother, Samson. They were both on the verge of 17 years old and their health declined very rapidly. We had them for 11 years (adopted them from my sister). Tore me up and devastated my wife.

So we're "down" to three cats (the mama's "babies" but they are 7 years old), and a dog. To end on a much happier note, they all get along fantastically and I couldn't ask for better pets. They are all loving, in excellent health, and they aren't in the least bit destructive. I was worried when we got a leather couch last year but aside from the occasional scratch here and there, the Zoo hasn't bothered it in the least.

I'd like another dog, but I don't want to send my wife to the Funny Farm. Three cats, one dog, and two freshwater fish tanks are just about all we can handle!!

Good luck, Han! I'll have my vasectomy/testicle jokes ready when you're done. :D

I agree with both of you. It takes more of an adult to be honest with yourself that kids just aren't for you and not cave to the pressure society places on us to procreate.

SO cute, I may need some insulin. :)

Wow. Missed a busy day here.(Damn lawyers, I should have been sneaking into here instead of listening to them drone)

Anyway, in regards to getting snipped. Did it with just a local and had no problem, but the Xanax sounds like a great option.

For those of you that got snipped cuz you don't want kids I applaude you, but those of you thinking about it - I didn't want any either until my 30s and then all of a sudden I REALLY wanted one. Just saying... That said, never feel guilty about not having children.
