Are there any rumors on the Galaxy Note 2? Or even if they are planning another one?

I am highly interested in a tablet/phone hybrid. I would even be interested in a UK version of the Tab 7" that had phone calling capabilities.

Quad-Core would be nice, ICS, and a HD non-Pentile display. Battery life is important to me too.

Anyone on the horizon for a Note 2 or different Tablet/Phone hybrid devices?

Haven't heard anything about a note 2 but I hope there will be, because I can't go back to a smaller phone now. This is the standard!

Yeah, that's where I'm at. I love my Evo3D but frankly the screen size (even at 4.3") is just too small for me. I have quite awhile until my next upgrade unless I buy out my contract but starting to look to the horizon now is a smart thing to do.

Preferable I'd like a 7" or 10" device. Phone & text messaging capabilities. 1080p resolution display, SLCD2 or SAMOLED+. Non-Pentile. Quad-Core, ICS, 8 hours of continuous use battery life. Bluetooth, WiFi, LTE, etc etc... Maybe a Nexus device. Ya know, the holy grail. :p

I'll keep looking. ;) Thanks. I have a feeling that if the Note 2 is coming, it'll be my next device.

I hope quad core exynos 2GHz with 4GB RAM Galaxy Note III will come in 2013 or 2014, hopefully with optional accesories of slide out QWERTY keyboard, with support for exFAT :)

I hope the camera can have ISO 1600. 8 megapixel is adequate for me.

Samsung P6800 is really close to what you're looking for.

GSIII has this, so you can bet the next Note will as well.

I'm happy with my note for a while, I think it'll be the Note III for me.

I thought that about the iPhone 5, then the Note came out and crushed any aspirations I had for wanting the iPhone 5. There goes brand loyalty for ya. :)
Not that I ever had any brand loyalty for Apple, evil company, every evil. Rot in hell Steve! :p

Likewise, there's no hurry. And when I get it, I know my wife will be real happy to adopt my orphaned Note I.

As long as they keep the general design and not going "pebbles", I guess I'd be happy. "Pebbles" as in GSIII doesn't fit the pro profile of Galaxy Note

Love the Note, although the (completely unsubstantiated) rumours that it'll be even bigger at 5.5" are a little worrying. 5.3" is really the limit for me. The rumour of an even bigger Note do actually make sense though when you consider the S3 is 4.8", Samsung may want to keep it differentiated.

Myth. No more or less evil than every other company. Endless reports slamming Apple and their use of Foxconn are click bait when you realise practically every other manufacturer use them or their equivalent. The only difference is Apple are making so much profit, in an ideal world you kind of hope they'd give something back. That they don't is a sad indication of shareholder culture we live in, not Apple's fault. Please realise, this is NOT a defense of Apple, I just think ALL companies are ruthless money grabbing entities, Apple right amongst them.

Far easier to say which companies aren't evil, of which there are precious few.

You can't judge a phones size by the screen size. A 5.5" Note could be significantly smaller than the original, if they reduce the size of the bezel.

That's a good point actually. It'd have be pretty amazing for me to upgrade though, I'm strictly a two yearly upgrader of phones despite me being contract-free.

Always makes me laugh when people moan that x phone isn't much of an upgrade from y phone, when they've bought two said phones within 12 months of each other. Well duh, we've reached the point where you simply don't see massive improvements in technology within that short a period. The counter argument to this is "BUT THIS HAS A QUAD CORE CPU!" or "IT HAS A BETTER CAMERA!", to which I say, yaaaawn. Phone to phone, I want a host a of new features that were simply impossible on the previous phone, not placebo effect faster benchmarks running the same old unoptimised software.

I agree, I'm looking for significant differences. I thought the whole iPhone 4 to 4S was just a money machine for Apple, or that they launched the 4 before it was really ready. The issue apple have got is the lack of novelty value in their new products for existing users. I'm not sure the Note II will be that different. It depends if some of the software on the S3 makes its way onto the existing note or Samsung decide its only for the new one.

Thing is, I never expected the 4S to be anything more than it was, Apple don't make massive leaps year on year. Hardly any companies do, and I include Android handset makers in that, it's simply not in their interests.

I reckon Apples problem all surrounds their protracted release schedule of the 4S and eventually the 5. With the exception of nerds like us who frequent forums and read tech blogs, the masses are happy with a phone for a couple of years. As such, I don't think the (imo) purely spec bump & Siri of the 4S was the problem. It's that it came out 6 months too late, and the weight of expectation meant it was always gonna be a disappointment. Now you've got loads of people, myself amongst them, with an out of contract two year old phone that, specs wise, has been blown out of the water by android phones. These people are itching for new hardware, and the next iPhone is still months away.

I'm from the UK and contract free these days, I bought an International Note last November, largely due to gadget lust. I still personally prefer iOS to be completely honest, but the screen of the Note renders my old iPhone almost a curiosity these days. All silly speculation at this stage I know, but the highly dubious leaks surrounding the next iPhone leave me completely cold - taller 4" screen with sub 720p resolution, yaaaaawn. I know the Note is fairly niche, but I wouldn't even consider anything under 4.3" now, and I expect a lot feel the same.

My extremely long winded and boring point is, I consider myself a BIG Apple fan (not fanboy, I like tech generally and have a whole host of non-Apple paraphenalia), and if I've left their phone in the dust and not entranced by the rumoured next one, ouch, there's quite likely a load more that feel the same.

Apple will probably placer an injunction on sales cos Samsung offer it in the same colour as theirs or something equally petty. Delay +1 month whenever it is actually released lol

I think they'll keep the Note as the halfway device between generations of Galaxy S phones like they did with the first Note. It had some improvements over the GS2 but not quite what the GS3 has. That said we should have S-Voice and some of the cool features of the GS3 on the Note 2 and hopefully a few other little tidbits so that we don't feel completely left behind by the GS4.
