How To Galaxy Note 4: How to screenshot

This resource created by Phandroid.com Contributing Editor Kevin Krause as part of an Official Series of beginner tutorials for Android Forums.

Taking a screenshot on the Galaxy Note 4 is similar but different to the process on other Android phones. To do so, you must press the power on/off/standby button simultaneously with the home button located below the display. Hold briefly and the screen will flash, indicating that you have captured whatever image was displayed.

Here is a demonstration using the Galaxy S5, which utilizes an identical process:

But the Note 4 has a trick up it's sleeve that it shares with the Galaxy S and certain other Samsung phones. You can take a screenshot using a palm-swiping gesture once the feature is enabled from the settings menu. To do so:
  1. From the Settings menu, navigate to "Motions and gestures" under the "Motions and Controls" header
  2. Tap "Palm swipe to capture"
  3. Enable palm swipe to capture by switching the toggle at the top of the menu to "On"
To take a screenshot using this method, press the side of your palm against the edge of the display and swipe toward the other edge. See a demonstration below (again using the Galaxy S5).
