Root Galaxy S SPH-D700 will not turn on

I typed in the title and nothing came up as a similar situation so here it goes.
I have the Samsung Galaxy S Epic and while I was trying to root the phone odin3 displayed the "reset" and my phone turned itself off. So I thought it was resetting itself but now after a few minutes the phone doesn't come on at all. I mean like AT ALL. No recovery mode, no download mode, nothing. So I'm fearing the worse that the phone has now become a paperweight, but I thought I would give it one last ditch effort to see if anyone has also had this problem. Any advice or info is appreciated, thanks
