Root Galaxy s won't accept my sim card after a phone reboot

i was experiencing loss of signal connection and after ringing o2 and them telling me it was sumthing to do with my sim card which it isnt as it works in another phone i did a phone reboot. after this the phone stayed in flight mode and does not display an imei number. Can anyone help with this? thanks
