Galaxy S3 Rugby - won't keep settings after restart

I have a Galaxy S3 Rugby on AT&T's network and whenever I restart my phone it loses all previous settings I had in it. I have Swype + Dragon that I use for my swype and every time I restart my phone I have to go back into the settings and set it as my default keyboard. Any thoughts on what could cause this? My son has the same phone and doesn't experience this problem with the same app.

Any help would be appreciated.
