Galaxy S4 Not Recognized by USB in Car Stereo

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and a new Android user with the Galaxy S4.

I love the phone, and I'm happy to have switched my my iPhone. The only problem is that now my S4 isn't recognized by the USB port in the stock stereo in my 2009 Pontiac G6. Previously, I was able to use my iPhone through the USB port on my stereo and have full control with the stereo over the music on the phone. Now, when I plug my S4 in, it tells me the "accessory is not supported".

Can anyone recommend an accessory that will allow me to do what I could previously do with my iPhone? I do have an AUX jack that I can use to play media from my S4, but if it's possible to have control over the media with the stereo and the phone, that would be great.

Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hi hallski!

    Welcome to Android Forums.
I work in mobile electronics, and for what you want to do, there isn't much available at the moment. If you upgraded your factory stereo system to something aftermarket, you could get a little better control with Bluetooth. But full control like you had with the iPhone hasn't quite gotten to that same level yet.

Thanks! Seems like a helpful community.

You're right about the full control, I couldn't find much in the way of products that would do that. I guess I was spoiled with that feature of the iPhone. Maybe the only feature I'll miss. I can use the aux Jack for now, it will get the job done. If any one else has an idea though, I'd still love to hear it.
