    Hi guys!

My galaxy y doesn't vibrate when i receive text messages but i does vibrate when i receive voice calls.

vibrate setting is set to "Always"

There is no setting for "vibrate" in message setting.

I have noticed this after i upgraded to Gingerbread 2.3.6, my friend's Galaxy Y was not upgraded, it vibrates on text messages..

I upgraded it to DXLA1 hoping that i would fixed the problem but at no avail..

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks In Advance

i installed Go SMS to try your solution, vibrate option is checked, vibrate style is set to "always", vibrate pattern is set to "multiple short".

same problem.. no vibrate on SMS.

see if you can locate the "new message notification" checkbox inside the GoSMS settings. im not referring to the system settings but the GoSMS settings:

    1. open your sms.
    2. tap the soft key on the bottom left that opens additional menus.
    3. tap settings
    4. locate the one i mentioned above.

    tell me if it helps

Yup! tried all the settings on GoSMS... GoSMS is a great app, but i just need basic functionality.

I ended up resetting my Galaxy Y to its defaults.. Fixed the problem.

    Thanks for the help anyway!

This could be the technical issue... Report it to the service to get things fixed...

    Good luck!
