Everyone,
The Droid Incredible has a known issue with email and exchange servers at this time. When using Outlook Web Access to setup email on the phone and trying to use the Reply to All feature it will randomly pick contacts out of your contact list and forward the email.
To rectify this issue you must use one of the following solutions:
1. The IT Department of the Corporation using Exchange MUST provide POP3 or IMAP settings to setup email
2. The customer must use TouchDown software for a one time fee of $19.99. (Coogi says "I think its bull that we even have to tell someone to use this as an option the phone comes with)
THE ABOVE SOLUTIONS ARE THE ONLY TWO KNOW SOLUTIONS AT THIS TIME. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE DON’T HESITATE TO ASK.
Please read the actual memo from VZW.
Issue: Exchange Email only (On the native device email client for corporate use only. ):
• When an email is opened that has no recipients in the carbon copy (“CC” )field, if the user selects
”Reply All,” unintended recipients’ addresses can sometimes be added at random into the CC field from
previously received emails.
o POP/IMAP email accounts are not impacted.
o Third party apps, such as TouchDown, also not impacted.
Action: Sales Representatives need to qualify the customer during the sales process to identify if that customer
will use the native business/corporate email client with their DROID Incredible.
o If the customer acknowledges that they will use the native business/corporate email
client, communicate the information below:
“When replying to ‘all’ in an email, please ensure that there aren’t any unwanted or
unintended recipients in the ‘CC’ field before hitting the ‘Send’ button.”
Resolution: A fix for this issue is being tested now and will be released by May 6, 2010. You may communicate
this information to the customer, as well.
No action required for customers using consumer email services like AOL, Yahoo, Gmail, and the like.
