When I upload things to Facebook, it always tags it with "uploaded by DROID"

Is there anyway to get rid of the tag?

Not sure, but why would you want to? Be proud of your phone!

I agree, be proud of your Android.
I love the little icon in the comments on YouTube when you upload a video direct from your phone.

WOW we support Android because it's open but then are ok with hard coded features that can't be turned off? If this can't be turned off it's a major FAIL but the app designer. If I'm going to be a walking billboard for a company they can put me on payroll.

Truely amazed with the comments prior to mine. [/shakes head]

I'll actually contribute to the thread. I am proud of android and like my phone but I agree, I would like the option to disable this. People already know I love my phone and talk about it all the time at work, don't need to go preaching in the digital world too.

Same here, doesn't bother me. You're already posting what you're doing on FB, so why are you now concerned about privacy relating to what type of device you're using.

I just wish they would put an "X" at the end, "Uploaded by DROID X" sounds better ;)

So there is no way to turn that off.

I turned off the "sent from my blackberry wireless" on my blackberry for all e-mail traffic.

I would like to do the same for this. I don't advertise for anyone, if I can help it.

Not sure if this works for Facebook, but for email if I go into "Email settings" (press menu button while in email), then select "Compose options". There are options to set the default font, size, style etc., plus more importantly, you can set the Email signature. On mine I changed "Sent via Droid" to "Sent via Droid X". Now when I create a new email it includes the updated signature.

    Hope this helps!

For email just edit your signature, this was the first thing I did when I got my phone. For apps, if it has this hard coded and you don't like it, leave a review and mention that, or send a note to the app developer. Lots of these guys are happy to get user input on their programs. As for Facebook, I use gave up on the apps and just go to touch.facebook.com on a web browser instead. Until they fix the contact linking issues this phone has, I'll keep away from having facebook directly on my phone.

You could bypass the app and send updates via text message or email. Instructions here. Of course now you have the tag "xxTIMExx via text message". So your just trading one tag for another

Hmm I'm not really sure. I usually upload from my gallery, just hit share and then select facebook.
I did try it directly from my facebook app also and either way it doesn't say anything at all under the pics.

I don't like it myself. A little too 'fanboy' for me.

I wouldn't say it's fanboy like at all.

When I use my HTC HD7 it will either say via Facebook for Windows Phone or Via Windows phone

    Iphones/ipods say via Iphone

Blackberries, Palm and other OS are all the same.

I guess it's just facebook way of showing that the status update or wall comment or whatever is being posted differently than just doing it on a computer.

Just like if you use the browser it will say via mobile web or if you text your facebook updates it will say via text msg

I usually don't pay much attention to it
