Root Getting the Desire HD an have no idea where to start

Did I miss any bugs on iCS 8.8? I spend only 4-6 days a month on AOKP uke:

No big bugs really.

One small quirk though, which I had in 8.7 too is when I unlock the phone at times the lockscreen will flip upside down for a split second as it unlocks.

It isn't really noticeable unless you look for it and I doubt it will bother any one.

Well. when I say "bugs" I talk about mayor bugs. For example, I don't want a phone without wifi tethering, or without headset support. I can live with a minor issue instead

I have heard Headset buttons won't work on many AOKP ROMs.

I don't really know as that's something I don't use.

Other than that everything works fine, really.

Forget about everything I said. aospX 1.0.0-MR1. Still testing it. Headset works. No wake locks. No sleep issues.

How did I miss this ROM for so long (well because it is on the XDS Inspire 4G development thread, instead of the Desire HD development thread).

I would like to ask a thing about the AAHK: I have a windows pc and Im a little worried by all the things I have to do to properly run the kit. Instead my girlfriend has an old mac laptop (2009 or such) and maybe I can run the kit from it, if it's easier. Anyone has ever experienced running it on mac?

Is it possible for you to create a Ubuntu 32 bit live CD? This would be the easiest way.

I don't know much about AAHK. I used mine on Linux.

Ran AAHK from a Mac. Same advantages as Ubuntu. The Android USB drivers are native for both Linux and Mac OSX which is what causes issues on Windows. If you have a anti virus program/firewall installed disabled it when you download and run AAHK. Remember. It should be disabled even during the download.

AAHK has a script called zerg rush, which is often mistaken for a virus.

Contacts are saved in your Google account, yes.

For the first time the AAHK seems daunting but its really just a matter of following on screen instructions.

there are apps that can backup sms and call logs

ive heard my backup pro can backup apps(but not app data) when youre not rooted,but ive not tried it.

that is about the extent that you can make a backup,if not rooted.

if you are on a rootable,and non-sense 3.0 rom now,its possible aahk will only downgrade your firmware,not erasing any personal data

The manual says that if the phone was shipped with gingerbread aahk won't wipe anything. Fact is that I bought my phone used, so Im not sure which OS's version was shipped with. But I'm pretty confident that it was shipped with GB anyway. So I asked mostly becaus is my first time and maybe I could have forget something
