Give me the real OTA already! Lol, whats taking them so long to get it out. The only thing driving me nuts truthfully is the fact that I cant see any of the apps i bought in the market and i dont know if I can see some of the newer ones. This is very frustrating.. GRRRRRRR

(i know there was a workaround discovered, but im not savy enough to complete that process)

Real OTA or no real OTA, I don't think it'd affect what you see on the Market if the devs set the apps to support 2.1 only.

I am happy with the build out now. I have no issues with the paid apps on the Market though, not sure why others are.

    All mine show up.

    I agree.

This is getting to the point of being ridiculous. It's been WEEKS since I/O and still NOTHING.

The last word from Google said it would be released "shortly".

Well, Google must have a different definition of shortly than I do because IMO, it should have been released by now.

At the rate Google is going, Gingerbread will be out before FroYo.

At least they made sure the press got their update..:mad

Yeah it has been a little frustrating but seriously guys...just be glad you're not stuck in Steve Job's prison. I will gladly wait for OTA update. No more Apple BS rules and restrictions

i'm running out of memory as well and have also been considering deleting Google Earth! i really don't want to though.:(

i'm running froyo now but it hasn't helped with the memory issue.:( i have the same amount of free app memory as i did in 2.1 and since it's up to the app developer to add move to SD support, getting the OTA won't guarantee more app memory. i'm hoping an official 2.2 release will free up the extra memory that's been locked out for some reason and motivate more developers to add move to SD.

Yeah, the lack of protected apps is really getting to me. Don't know what's taking Google so long. There are very few problems with the test build.

That's what I don't get. 2.2 on my tmobile Nexus works fine...very few bugs at all.

This wait cannot be due to bugs. I can buy the excuse that they are waiting until next week to steal some of Apple's thunder, but I have a life to live and would like to have 2.2 so I can use my device to it's full potential...today. Letting your users have 2.2 is the best advertisement, imo. I mean, how much thunder does Google really think they'll be able to steal. iphone fanboy sites like Giz and engadget will still focus on iPhone all week anyway.

waiting was fun for awhile but they've pushed it past that point now(for me)

Don't forget that everyone jumping on the FRF50 version of Froyo means Google now has to make an upgrade that works for both 2.1 and us "press-release-Froyo" users.

I say Google is fixing some last minutes bugs discovered by us lol. I think Google planned on leaking that file since they don't care we have it installed, nor does it void your warranty.

In that respect, I think Google is also waiting till next week, on the day Apple announces the new iPhone 4g phone, which is this Monday!! Come on Google!!!!

I don't think they've ever said that was the case. They only said Froyo users would get the OTA notification as well.

Also, I'm not sure about this idea they want to steal Apple's thunder. I'm a PC/Android user, but even I can admit next week will be all about Apple. No one is stealing their thunder unless Steve decides to skip the new iPhone to spite Gizmodo.

Froyo is going out to Nexus One users first as far as we're aware. The only way Google would even have a shot at diverting attention from the shiny new Apple toy is if they roll Froyo out to the Droid and N1 at the same time. Then for good measure, have the Android Market web store go live. This scenario is unlikely, but I'm going to fantasize about it anyway.

I think Google knows what they're doing. They're a great company.

Patience, my fellow Nexus One owners. Patience.

Sure I want froyo, but I'm using a recent version already, so I can wait.
