Could be a few weeks before it's fully rolled out OTA...and we continue to wait...

"googlenexus: Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3) update now rolling out to Nexus S and Nexus One. Be patient, may take a few weeks for OTA to complete."

*yay* Now the fun wait begins!!! :) I wish I had my Nexus :( I won't be able to join the fun *sigh* Well at least it's 2.3.3 instead of like 2.3.1. I wonder if this update fix the random reboot the NS are facing...I think that was the 'big' issue?

I believe if anywhere, XDA will have it up first, so you might want to check it there.

Roze what's your phone situation? I see that you are pretty active over at the Atrix group.

haha, lol. I was waiting for the AT&T Nexus S to get released :( I want after some consideration the Tmo NS is a no go. I've been following the Atrix (such a yummy phone) and it's coming to Canada in March. So I'm leaning towards that instead. I have lost some faith in Google on how it's supporting its Nexus brand when one becomes 'second best'. 2.5 months and the Gingerbread OTA is just rolling out for you guys :/ (like how I kept this on topic? ;) lol)

It definitely does look like a good phone, I have been reading all the responses in the sub-forum. The TMo NS looks good only because I have been putting in some serious consideration about switching carriers. I live in an area that is completely covered by At&t service and I get data interuptions and drop calls all the time (I have been with At&t for years and it hasn't gotten better).

The only two thing that is keeping me from getting a new phone is that I don't want to go back on contract and it will be an expensive endeavour since the NS is $549.99 and the Atrix is $599.99. Also I really want to get a tablet (most likely the Xoom) and I could spend my money on the wifi version and keep/use the N1 to tether it too. Too many choices and decisions.

And too keep it on topic...I really can't wait until the black notification bar on GB for the N1, should look sweet.

well tmobile is the only way to get unlimited data unless you're grandfathered in an older att plan. also, someone on another forum said that atrix feels even more plasticky than the nexus s

and from what i read, it seems that the atrix doesnt have motoblur (but i'm not sure) but doesnt motorola have a horrible track record on updating their phones? i'm sure the droid was updated to froyo months after the nexus. if you want gingerbread, the only way to go is through nexus.

i'm also like you, i dont want to root b/c the process is not as straightforward as people say, and i consider myself tech savy and up to date, but not in terms of understanding the directions for rooting

Glad it is finally coming out, but I think I will also be staying with Cyanogen Mod 7... Personally, though I think the stock ROM is nice, I don't think there is a big need anymore for Google to do all the work themselves (considering I have been running software based on Gingerbread for a couple weeks at least).

    Atrix definitely has motoblur.

haven't gotten the update yet, but i did see something slide past on engadget awhile back regarding a Nexus S w/ ATT frequencies. Atleast that was what they thought. I'd be inclined to agree as well.

it would be a similar time tables as the N1.

thanks for the clarification. i wouldve thought motorola wouldve left this untouched like they did with the droid and droid x

nope, but you can uninstall most of the AT&T some concessions at least.
