gmail issue

Craiglist is banned at my work, so when I saw a pair of concert ticlets I wanted I used gmail to email. I tried 4 different posts and got a mailer deamon on each one, I first thought maybe it was because gmail in the to: line puts the subject, so I deleted that and just left the email address, but once again, mailer deamon, is there something in settings I need to change or will I have to use my yahoo on the browser to do this?
