Help Gmail not working on samsung gt-i5801

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Apollo gt-i5801 phone. I am having trouble with connecting to gmail. It was working fine until two days ago, now when I press the gmail button all I get is the message "No Connection". Can anyone suggest what to try to get it working again. Thanks
