Gmail Syncing Contacts

When I add a contact in Gmail it adds it to my phone contacts, but when I add a new contact on the phone it does not go into my gmail contacts. Any help?

Welcome labarm83, glad to have you on the forums.

Depending on what phone you have when you create a contact it defaults as a "Phone" contact, usually when you create one you need to set it as a "Google" contact.

This can be seen at the top of the new contact at which account it will be saved under once you hit the "Create New Contact" button
