I use the Gmail app, I've found the speed to be efficient, and I use the mail program for my Exchange account only.

The HTC app did not send my emails from a separate non-gmail address like the Gmail app does. That rules is out for my work email.

I hate that I have two gmail accounts and I have to open the app and switch between the accounts. I wish the shortcuts on the home page would work accurately.

Same, my disappointment is that you can't 'Delete all spam messages now' or click multiple messages for deletion. But maybe I'm missing something.

Why use a program for Gmail that wasn't created by Gmail??

I'm using HTC Mail because you can't download attachments or copy/paste from the Gmail app. Those are both dealbreakers for me.

    Both.

I like the gmail app, but it doesn't seem to handle more than one address like the hTC one; or am I missing something?

    No pinch to zoom either.

I have 3 gmail accounts setup in the Gmail app. When viewing your inbox, press Menu, then Accounts, then Add Account.

 Don't see the 'Accounts' option?

I'm using a Hero, will that be different to the Incredible?

You need to add a "Both" option. I have both the HTC and Gmail setup along with Unread Gmail Count for notifications. I have HTC set to check manual to save battery, and let Gmail handle that actual notifications. So once I know there's mail, I just use HTC to view/reply. I really dislike the look of the Gmail app (it's horrible), and have been pleased with HTC mail. Just wish it did true push so I could simplify.

Might be, as the Inc is my first Android phone, so I can't say. Maybe try this from the home screen: Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync > Add Account > Google.

    Hope that helps.
