Root Going from 2.1 Root to 2.2 OTA

Currently have 2.1 Rooted... How can I get the 2.2 OTA and retain root?

Is there some way to root from the 2.2 OTA, so in other words, can I flash back to stock 2.1 sbf, update to 2.2, then root?

Just get the OTA and then root it again, no need to flash the sbf if you just rooted your 2.1.

I had rooted 2.1, did the OTA, and then rooted again with 0 issues

Also, birdman says he's going to release a pre-rooted 2.2 OTA update .zip. But if you don't want to wait, hit up the link and knock yourself out. With all the 2.2 OTA problems listed out there, I'm sticking with my leak until things smooth over.

So do you need to unroot the 2.1 before applying the 2.2 OTA?

Shouldn't matter, since you loose root during the upgrade.

The problem is I have made quite a few modifications, such as removing system apps. I understand this will cause the OTA update to fail?

see i have to disagree. I never deleted anything off my phone. all i ever did was freeze the blockbuster and city id etc apps. Then today I unfroze them and tried doing the OTA and i keep getting failed to update...so what is going on? all i ever did was root 2.1 and freeze a few things....so what do i need to do to fix this phone. after this i am done with doing anything unofficial. seems like its more headache.

I disagree, i think official is more of a headache. Why not just wait till friday and use Rom manager to switch to a rooted deoxed optimized 2.2/ 2.3.15 from birdman?

idk. lol. i just wanna get this done. do you have any ideas as to why my phone cant update? ive tried like 10x now all day.
