    Dear DX community,

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to give me all of your best suggestions of what to do on my 40+ hours on the plane. Apps, games, movies (how to get them, format, and such), music, and the rest? Also, Singapore is going to be crazy fun, but its a humid area. What are your suggestions to get the best pics/videos?

This message will self destruct in 3...2....1..... j/k :D!

    Thank you!

If you're going to Singapore, my opinion is don't take half-assed pictures and video with your Droid X that you'll look back on and wish you had better shots. The DX makes a fine camera if it's all you have, but you're headed some place new and you should pack accordingly.

At the very least, pick up something like the Canon SD-series of cameras that will take good quality stills and pictures, but still be small enough that you'll carry it around.

Frankly, I'm a photo geek so I bring a bag full of camera gear everywhere I go and if you can swing it, something like a used Nikon D40x or a similar compact SLR is going to pay you huge dividends in image quality - but that's only if you can afford it and will actually carry it around. A high quality point and shoot will get you most of the way there with out the high price and large size.

Keep in in airplane mode as there's not sense wasting battery life on the radio sense you won't be getting service.

Install a good VOIP app so you can make phone calls when you're around free wifi spots.

Both great suggestions, I will see if i can buy/borrow a camera to take with me and turn on airplane mode. But what about the flights? I have about a day and a half in the air (total) and need something to keep me busy!

Depending on what airline you take, a lot of long flights such as these usually include entertainment systems built into the seat (especially Singapore Airlines ---> awesome service if you can afford it).

You could watch a bunch of movies and stuff through that. If not spend some time getting used to the time difference so you can head out and visit Singapore nice and early instead of sticking around at the hotel.

A 3x dose of Nyquil does the trick for me when flying internationally :p It's hard to be bored when you're busy sleeping!
