Does anyone know of a good (powerful) Small form factor USB (not full flash drive size) OR PCMCIA Wireless N card that works with debian based linux systems (more specifically ubuntu)?

I bought one with a supported realTek chipset but it turned out to be crap.

    Any recommendations?

If by "full flash drive size" you mean a USB "thumb drive", I doubt that you'll find anything smaller. Even if you do, you wouldn't want to buy it because there would be no room for an antenna (or multiple antennas, which is often needed for full 802.11N service). Those tiny dongles for Bluetooth mice work because the signal doesn't have to travel more than a few feet, and the data rate is very slow in comparison to Wi-Fi.

As for Linux compatibility, check at your distro's website to see lists of compatible hardware.

I use a Zyxel AG-225H USB Wi-Fi dongle mainly because it has a built-in AP / SSID scanner that can be used without being hooked up to the computer. This one doesn't do N, but there may be a newer version that does. That's about as small a form factor as you can get and have it still work.

Wow, that is mighty tiny! I doubt that it could possibly have a working MIMO antenna array in a package that small, but the feature set looks sweet enough that I wouldn't mind if it never got close to the advertised transfer rates.
