Just wanted to say thanks for all the help I've received from this forum. I've bought a new phone so no more Galaxy for me, and no more Android, and therefore no more androidforums.

I bought a Palm Pre Plus BTW, which I'm very happy with and couldn't recommend more highly. Android is cool, I've no problems with it, but I prefer WebOS. Just my opinion though, don't want to start a flame war :)

    All the best guys!

Personally, I'm waiting for the Nokia N8. A month or so to go, so I should
    be jumping ship soon too.

Android is not all bad, but I've learned that I don't really use many
applications and that the killer feature for me is the geotagged camera.
I expect N8 to deliver on this.

As for the Galaxy... we spent a lovely year together, but I can't say I've
found my perfect phone in it. Far from it. Almost daily, the lock button
misbehaves and reminds me that it's not a well engineered product. Also,
I still can't upgrade to Android 1.6 unless I want to install Galaxo. And so on.
This has been a beta experience. Advanced beta, but still beta.

I'm still waiting to see if 2.2 by Drakaz becomes a reality on the Galaxy. It will
affect my decision as to what to do with the phone.

Just one thing to add. I've now, for the first time, actually tried to click on the
"emergency call" button on the unlock screen.

    It doesn't work.

    LOL

Oh the number of times I've shaken my fist and said "never again, Samsung!" at times like that. It must annoy Google that manufacturers balls up the Android experience & make Google look bad. Luckily in my case I'm technically aware enough to separate who to point the finger of blame at. Many users may not.

With Lenovo planning to launch their Skylight with Android we might see a shift towards user friendliness in the future.
