I'm in rant mode. I've had my Android phone for about three weeks now and there are parts I am loving about the experience. But there are some really frustrating things too. Now, I can't blame Google for any of the hardware issues or any problems with third-party app, but for crying out loud, can't they get their own software to work consistently?

So what's up with Google Calendar and the Android Calendar apps?! Both made by the same company, but they don't use their own data the same way. I need PIM apps and the Calendar is critical for me and just has t work right. But here's the latest one that's driving me crazy:

From your PC, create an all day event in Google Calendar and have it repeat daily for for say three days. Notice that it shows up on your Google Calendar from the start date right on through to that end date you chose. Perfect. Now, wait for it to sync over to your Android Calendar. Hey, look at that, it doesn't end on the same day there! It ends a day earlier. So which is it? Does it end on the day you scheduled it to or on the day before? I guess the little green robot wants to knock off a day earlier.

Come on Google, get your own people talking and fix these things.

(Ok, I feel much better now that I've complained.)

I've set up repeating events already, and had no issue like this. Though there are some options I've found missing in the android version, like setting up custom repeats(you actually can't make an event repeat 3 days and stop easily from the phone), and multiple reminders.

Check your time and date settings on both computer and phone, if they are all correct, try it again. If it doesn't happen again, and you set it up at about midnight, maybe that was the cause of the discrepancy.

Thanks for the idea on verifying the timezone thing. That wasn't it, but it was a good reminder.

I guess it just has a mind of it's own sometimes. Today I had to add another repeating event, and it was fine! Oh well, I guess I'll have to be patient and keep waiting for a "real" Calendar app like Datebk from Pimlico to show up.

Incidentally, is it just me, or is there no way to set the Android calendar to display the week as starting on Sunday? (Old dogs like me have a very hard time learning new tricks.)
